Here’s the not so happy ending.
This photo does not do justice to the sadness. What you can’t really tell here is that the poor thing was soaked and squashed into the wet street. And all the while, its true glove was quietly waiting for it back home in their natural habitat, thinking it was just off for a couple of days to forage for food to store for the upcoming cold dead of winter.
She probably knows by now. I haven’t seen her ’round her tree in days. I don’t dare look down into the street, though, for fear of seeing that she met the same fate as her mate.
