Wherein I Turn Into Erma Bombeck

Someone sent me email this morning asking if I was available to talk. I told her I was just getting into the shower. She wrote back, “Call me when you get out of shower or before.”
I am glad she gave me such explicit directions, because otherwise I would have called her during.
Next up: A Heloise-like tip about kitchen measurement conversion, a link to Family Circus, and an invitation to come over and watch me “scrapbook” while watching The View.

  2. Cody, I (we) had the vegetarian General Tso’s “Chicken” another day, and just about died from the excitement. No exaggeration. We’re going to make special trips back, and I’ll make sure to hit up the dish you suggest here!

  3. What? No scallion pancake photos? Mr. Hot is quite offended that the best $2.95 in Brooklyn didn’t get front page coverage on the premier food-image site on the internet. Red, she apologizes really. Please don’t stop making that incredible home-made mustard sauce, just because it has been slighted in favor of the more visually appealing tofu dishes. Everyone knows the tofu is only as good as the condiments it is served with!

  4. Alas, the scallion pancake photos came out entirely too blurry and thus did the beauty of the dish absolutely no justice. I suppose this means that the next time I am at Red Hot, I will have to get not only the dish Cody suggests but the scallion pancake as well. Ahhh, the suffering I must endure. The suffering.

  5. I was going to comment on the amazing array of edible panancea and the complete lack of anything even remotely resembling gastrointestinal glory here in the midwest,
    but the thought of Jodi suffering has me all aflutter.
    And that is making my stomach churn, too.

  6. I cannot begin to tell you how I envy the multitude of ways you can find tofu served in New York. I think there are only two ways in St. Louis: deep fried and stir fried. I will eat both of those, of course, but one would like a little variety now and then.
