Civic Duty

Please do not forget to vote.
That is all.
You really shouldn’t be online now, anyway. Shouldn’t you be, I don’t know, like, watching “Sixty Minutes” soon and getting that sick, sick feeling in your stomach at the faintest hint of the ticking clock sound that means that the weekend is essentially over and the work week crap is almost upon you?
So go. Stop diverting yourself with my nonsense and start focusing on your dread.
(But don’t leave without voting.)

  1. Sunday night is the night when I the assignments I should have spread more evenly over the weekend, so this evening I’ll be reading Marlowe’s The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus and trying to write a play of my own. But you can guarantee I’ll be wearing a beer helmet and a giant foam finger throughout.
    P.S. I love America. Really, I do.

  2. I considered doing the timezone calculations to figure out what time it would be here in the UK when the Super Bowl is happening, so that I could answer your question.
But my apathy towards the Super Bowl is SO GREAT that I couldn’t even be bothered to do that.
Maybe the Super Bowl has happened already. I don’t know.

  3. Well, we left the party at halftime and went home to watch “Battlestar Galactica,” so hopefully you’re only half disappointed in us. Ad I didn’t really watch the game. I was too busy enjoying a cosmo and grazing. (I only ever go to parties for the food and beverages, anyway.)

  4. Was there a football game yesterday? The pooch and I went for a Sunday drive to a dog-friendly park where we frolicked like barely-clad cheerleaders.

  5. I was so NOT watching the superbowl. Color me proud. I did discover that it is the ideal time to go out to dinner – because, dude – NOBODY else was there. Our kids were obnoxious and nobody cared. We didn’t have to wait to get a table for 8, and it was heaven.
