I would not cry if I had to live here – #4

It’s not just the Doris Day light blue of this place that stops me in my tracks every time I find myself on West 78th Street between Columbus and Central Park West. It’s also the double staircase, from which, when I’m not picturing Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond gliding down each side simultaneously, I’m envisioning Joan Crawford and Bette Davis striding down the left and right sides, respectively.
And myriad other reasons, too, of course, which I will leave you to discover yourself. Of course, it is much more fabulous when viewed in real life with your own peepers on a brilliantly sunny day when you’re on your way to meet one of your best friends at the Museum of Natural History while wearing a very pretty dress, so if you ever have the chance to do just that, I suggest you grab it.

  1. Whereas I don’t know you at all. I’m 0/3 on these fiction/non fiction polls. It’s almost like I’ve never met you or something.
