You would have been 88 today, just over seven years more than you were given in this realm. I wonder how those seven years would have treated you, how you would have treated them. I shudder to think they would not have been kind to you, one of the kindest people to ever grace the planet.
It goes without saying, of course, but I miss you like mad. I wish you were here to celebrate with a lunch that you wouldn’t let me pay for. I miss your desert-dry sense of humor. I miss you and your ridiculous-but-amazing white sunglasses.
